Assessment here isn't just about reading speed; it’s about comprehension. A typical mid-year test involves reading a short text—often about nature, like A. Mityaev's "The Storm" ( Groza )—and answering questions to prove they understood the plot and "moral".
The test usually takes the form of a dictation followed by grammatical tasks. The focus is on:
